Description

These Crispy Oven-Fried Feta Rolls combine salty feta wrapped in flaky phyllo pastry, baked to golden perfection, and drizzled with a sweet and spicy chili-honey glaze. They are a delightful appetizer or snack that’s easy to make and guaranteed to impress.

  • 200g (7oz) Feta Cheese: cut into 1cm (ยฝ-inch) sticks
  • 4 Sheets Phyllo Pastry: keep covered with a damp cloth
  • 30g (2 Tbsp) Unsalted Butter, Melted
  • 2 Tbsp (30ml) Olive Oil
  • 30g (2 Tbsp) All-Purpose Flour
  • 3 Tbsp (45ml) Honey
  • 1 tsp (5g) Chili Flakes: adjust to taste
  • ยฝ tsp (2g) Lemon Zest
  • 1 tsp (5ml) Lemon Juice
  • Pinch of Fine Sea Salt
  • 1 tsp (5g) Toasted Sesame Seeds
  • 1 Tbsp (5g) Chopped Fresh Cilantro Leaves

Instructions

  1. Prep Oven & Pan: Preheat oven to 200ยฐC (390ยฐF) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Flour Feta: Lightly coat feta sticks in flour.
  3. Roll Phyllo: Brush phyllo with butter, sprinkle with chili flakes, and roll with feta.
  4. Bake Rolls: Arrange rolls seam-side down and bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Make Glaze: Combine honey, chili flakes, lemon zest, lemon juice, and salt; warm until glossy.
  6. Glaze & Garnish: Drizzle with glaze, sprinkle with sesame seeds and cilantro.

Notes

For best results, keep phyllo pastry covered to prevent drying. Adjust chili flakes to your preferred spice level.
