  • 2.5 mL / 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt, plus more to taste
  • 1.25 mL / 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, plus more to taste
  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Roast the Garlic: Preheat oven to 200ยฐC / 400ยฐF. Slice off the top of the garlic head, drizzle with olive oil, wrap in foil, and roast for 30-40 minutes until soft. Squeeze out cloves and mash thoroughly.
  2. Prepare Creamy Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the mashed roasted garlic with softened cream cheese, finely chopped rosemary, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  3. Butter the Bread: Slice the bread lengthwise into two halves. Spread softened butter (optionally mixed with extra salt and pepper) evenly over the cut surfaces of both halves.
  4. Layer Filling and Cheese: Spread the creamy filling evenly over the buttered bread halves. Top generously with shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese. Place on a baking sheet.
  5. Bake Until Golden: Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the bread edges are golden brown. Broil for 1-2 minutes for a crispier crust, watching closely to prevent burning.
