- Total Time: 15 minutes
- Yield: 10 servings 1x
- Diet: General
Description
This simple guacamole recipe features a smoky lime drizzle to elevate the flavor, offering a fresh, flavorful appetizer perfect for chips, tacos, or barbecues.
Ingredients
- 3 medium avocados, ripe Hass variety (approximately 500g)
- 4 tablespoons fresh lime juice, divided
- 1/4 cup finely diced red onion (approximately 60g)
- 1 small jalapeรฑo, deseeded and finely minced (approximately 15g)
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, finely chopped, plus extra for garnish (approximately 15g)
- 1 teaspoon sea salt, plus more to taste
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika, plus a pinch for garnish
Instructions
- Mash Avocados: Scoop avocado flesh into a bowl. Add 3 tablespoons of lime juice and sea salt. Mash roughly with a fork or masher to achieve a chunky consistency, avoiding over-mashing.
- Fold Guacamole Ingredients: Gently fold in the finely diced red onion, minced jalapeรฑo, and chopped cilantro. Mix lightly to combine without breaking down the avocado chunks, then taste and adjust seasoning as necessary.
- Prepare Smoky Drizzle: Whisk together the olive oil, the remaining 1 tablespoon of lime juice, and smoked paprika in a separate small bowl until emulsified.
- Serve and Garnish: Transfer the guacamole to a serving bowl. Drizzle generously with the prepared smoky lime drizzle and garnish with extra cilantro leaves and a pinch of smoked paprika before serving immediately.
Notes
For best texture and flavor, serve immediately after preparation. To prevent browning during short storage, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole in an airtight container. If you dislike cilantro, substitute with flat-leaf parsley.
