Description

Ingredients
- 1 pound sirloin steak, 1 inch thick
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon chipotle powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare Steak: Pat the sirloin steak dry thoroughly with paper towels. Season generously with salt and pepper, then lightly brush with 1 teaspoon of olive oil.
- Prepare Glaze: In a small saucepan, combine the remaining olive oil, maple syrup, lime juice, soy sauce, chipotle powder, garlic powder, and onion powder. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until thickened and glossy, then remove from heat.
- Air Fry Steak: Preheat the air fryer to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC) for 5 minutes. Place the steak in the basket and air fry for 6-8 minutes for medium-rare, flipping halfway through.
- Glaze and Finish: Brush both sides of the steak with the prepared glaze during the last 2-3 minutes of cooking. Continue cooking until the steak reaches an internal temperature of 140ยฐF (medium-rare) or 150ยฐF (medium).
- Rest and Serve: Let the steak rest on a cutting board for 5-10 minutes. Slice against the grain, arrange on a plate, drizzle with remaining glaze, and garnish with cilantro.
Notes
To achieve a good sear, ensure the steak is completely dry before seasoning. For a tender result, allow the steak to rest for 5-10 minutes after cooking. Adjust the chipotle powder to control the heat level.
