- 60ml (2 Tbsp + 2 Tbsp) white miso paste
- 120g (ยผ cup + 2 Tbsp) brown sugar
- 60g (2 Tbsp + 1 tsp) unsalted butter
- 10ml (1 tsp + ยฝ tsp) soy sauce
- 150g (1ยฝ cups) panko breadcrumbs
- 30g (2 Tbsp) toasted sesame seeds
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Cilantro leaves, for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare Cheese: Pat mozzarella cubes dry.
- Make Glaze: Combine miso paste, brown sugar, butter, and soy sauce; heat until smooth.
- Season Flour: Whisk flour, garlic powder, paprika, and pepper.
- Combine Panko: Mix panko breadcrumbs and sesame seeds.
- Create Batter: Whisk water into flour until combined.
- Coat Cheese: Dip cheese in batter, brush with glaze, roll in panko.
- Heat Oil: Heat oil to 180ยฐC (350ยฐF).
- Fry Bites: Fry in batches for 2-3 minutes, until golden brown.
- Drain & Serve: Drain on paper towels, drizzle with glaze, garnish with cilantro.
