Ingredients
- 600 g (1.3 lb) Frozen Tater Tots
- 300 g (10.5 oz) Halal Chicken Sausage, sliced
- 150 g (5 oz) Onion, diced
- 120 g (4 oz) Red Bell Pepper, diced
- 2 Cloves Garlic, minced
- 4 Large Eggs
- 120 ml (ยฝ cup) Whole Milk
- 150 ml (โ cup) Heavy Cream
- 200 g (7 oz) Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded
- 100 g (3ยฝ oz) Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) Harissa Paste
- 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
- ยฝ tsp Ground Cumin
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) Olive Oil
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) Harissa Paste & 1 tbsp (15 ml) Cream (for drizzle)
- 2 tbsp (8 g) Fresh Cilantro, chopped
Instructions
- Prep Oven & Dish: Preheat oven to 200ยฐC (400ยฐF) and grease a baking dish.
- Sautรฉ Sausage & Veggies: Sautรฉ onion, pepper, and sausage until softened and browned.
- Whisk Egg Mixture: Whisk eggs, milk, cream, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Make Harissa Cheese Swirl: Melt cheddar and mozzarella with harissa paste.
- Layer Tots & Filling: Layer half the tots, sausage mixture, and egg mixture.
- Swirl First Layer: Drop harissa cheese sauce and swirl gently.
- Layer Remaining Ingredients: Add remaining tots and egg mixture.
- Swirl Second Layer: Drizzle remaining sauce and swirl briefly.
- Add Cheese & Bake: Top with remaining cheese and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Rest & Garnish: Rest for 5 minutes, drizzle with harissa-cream, and garnish with cilantro.
